Transparency is absolutely important throughout the entire process. It also helps with calming the potential home buyers down. I think that REX, and specifically Cara were excellent in terms of providing transparency, providing information on where we were in the process at any given point in time. She got every the ball rolling on the entire process and was really a strong resource for us to lean on because neither of us have purchased a home before. It was a really calming experience for us to work with her and know that we had someone who had experience and who was able to guide us through that process.

Drew Smith:
As first-time home buyers realizing that there was going to be a bidding war on the home, I think Cara did an excellent job of building a relationship with the listing agent. She really, really took a shining to us and we ended up with the home, so I think it was a good situation.

Janina Verano-Smith:
I noticed, my husband did not mention to me, but I noticed on my own through my review of the documents that REX offers a buyback guarantee. In other words, if something, an issue with the home arises 30 days after purchase, they will repurchase the home back from you. That gave me an intense peace of mind.

Janina Verano-Smith:
In regards to the REX Buyer Rebate Program, it was amazing because we purchased a property that needed renovations. We knew that going in, but we knew we could also count on receiving this cashback shortly after closing. It was very shortly after closing. I was surprised as to how quickly we actually received the check. I think four days after we closed.

Drew Smith:
It was a little ridiculous.

Janina Verano-Smith:
Something like that. Like Drew said, it is gone but we have a brand new kitchen. Our brand new master bath is almost done and without that program, we wouldn’t have been able to do the amount of renovation that we’ve done.

Drew Smith:
Absolutely not.

My tips for people that are just beginning their home search is in today’s day and age, you really don’t need a real estate agent to show you homes, get online, look at Zillow, go to open houses. If you’re lucky like we are, I think you’re going to find something that you like. Then call REX because you’ll get money back. It’s kind of a no-brainer.
