As REX continues its rapid nationwide expansion, it has become increasingly important for the company to stay true to its roots. From the start, REX has been committed to working closely with both military veterans and active-duty military members.
With REX offices in military communities like San Diego, Colorado Springs, Washington D.C. and San Antonio, hiring military veterans and developing programs to support military members in the home buying and selling process is important.
We served too…
“I always ask what branch of service and thank them for all that they have done for our country,” says Doug Sheridan, Director of REX Home Loans. “I’m a Marine Corps veteran myself, and I think it makes customers who are veterans feel more comfortable working with me knowing I have their best interest in mind.”
One of the biggest ways REX helps military members is through the VA Loan program.
“It’s important for every military member to understand the benefits that they are entitled to,” says Luke Smith, REX San Diego Market Manager.
VA loans are a great option
“VA loans are flexible, government-backed loans that come with significant benefits that lead to homeownership for veterans. Saving money and building credit can be difficult for service members who are constantly on the move.
Qualified borrowers can finance 100 percent of the home’s value without putting down a dime.”
“Even if the customer doesn’t end up choosing REX, I still want to make sure they are getting all of the information that is available to them,” says Sheridan.
“For instance, because the VA is not a lender, credit is not a factor for getting approved. Fear about low credit may keep some military members out of the housing market, so letting them know details like that is vital.”
