We have been given an update from our partners at World Housing about the family that recently moved into the newest REX home in Cambodia.
Mao Chanthoeurn, her husband, and her two children are now living in a REX provided home in The Divine Community. Mao, a factory worker, and her husband, a construction worker had previously been living in Cambodia’s Kampot province. The family fell on hard times when one of their three children became gravely ill and passed away.
Mao and her husband could no longer afford to pay the rental cost of their small room in Kampot, so they reached out to World Housing for assistance. After going through the selection process, Mao and her family were picked to receive a house provided by REX in The Divine Community. Mao says her favorite part of living in The Divine Community is the education provided to her children that will make it easier for them to find work when they get older.

One of the main pillars of the REX mission is promoting and participating in social good around the world. For every 50 homes REX sells, a home is donated to a family who does not have one. Today, another family is living in a new home thanks to REX and their partners at World Housing.
The latest REX home is in The Divine Community, a collection of 34 homes, housing over 150 people previously living in the Steung Meanchey slum in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The residents of The Divine Community will have access to education, nutrition and healthcare through local community programs so families can continue to thrive long after the homes have been built. Buying and selling with REX directly results in shelter for families like this one.
