5 Low Cost Ways to Upgrade Your Bathroom

For those HGTV binge-watchers out there, the phrase “bathrooms and kitchens sell homes” is an adage you hear ad nauseam on seemingly every home improvement show. While the phrase itself may be played out, the information is relevant.

If you are selling your home, you don’t want to sink (no pun intended) a lot of money into a complete remodel. Here are some mini-projects you can tackle in one weekend.

Removable Wallpaper

Stylish bathroom with patterned wallpaper

Wallpaper is no longer a tacky holdover from the 1970’s. New innovations in “removable” wallpaper have eliminated the hassle, and permanence, of this design element. Sticker based materials allow you to put up and take down wallpaper easily, and without damaging your walls. Plus, it adds some character to your bathroom.

Stylish Mirror

That boring, rectangular mirror you have over your sink isn’t drawing any attention. Take it down and replace it with something a bit more dramatic. Mirrors can be a statement piece of your newly redesigned powder or bathroom.

Light Fixture

Shine some light onto your remodel with a new light fixture. Good looking fixtures will only run you $100-200 bucks and are easy to install. Consider attaching some fun lightbulbs, like these, to complete the piece.

Accessories To Finish The Look

This one requires no manual labor at all! Make a quick run to your local home store and pick out a new soap dish, tissue box cover, and toothbrush holder. This quick and easy tip not only makes the bathroom look nicer but gives it a “homey” feel as well

Pull Handles

Don’t have the time or money to completely redo your vanity? How about replacing the pull handles instead? This is a quick and inexpensive way to breathe new life into your vanity.
